Picture Perfect Prep – Your Guide to a Stress-Free Session

If you’ve been thinking about booking a photo session—whether it's for your wedding day, family portraits, or a special milestone—timing is everything. Photographers often book up quickly, especially during peak seasons, so planning ahead ensures that you not only secure your preferred date but also have plenty of time to prepare.

For wedding photography, we strongly recommend booking at least 6 months in advance, though 9–12 months is ideal. This allows plenty of time to schedule your engagement session, bridals, and any planning consultations. Early booking also gives you priority in choosing dates and ensures your entire wedding experience—from start to finish—is thoughtfully and professionally captured.

For family sessions, especially during fall and spring (our most popular times of year), it's best to book 1 to 2 months in advance. This gives you time to coordinate outfits, find a location you love, and plan around school schedules or family travel.

If your schedule is open or you don’t have a firm date in mind, flexible sessions can often be booked on shorter notice. However, if you need a specific date, it's wise to plan 2 to 6 months ahead—particularly for weekends or holidays, which tend to fill up fast.
